For the sake of keeping families together, U.S. immigration law provides an unlimited number of visas for qualifying immediate family members of U.S. citizens who petition on their behalf.

Petition for Child (over 21) and Sibligs

U.S. Citizens may still petition for qualifying family members who are not considered immediate relatives. Unfortunately children over the age of 21 and siblings, are not considered immediate relatives. Thus, there are a limited number of these visas available and often longer wait times.

Provide Financial Support (I-864)

By signing this document, any household member who is not a sponsored immigrant agrees to allow his or her income to be available to the petitioning sponsor to help support the immigrant beneficiary.

Request a Certificate for U.S. Citizenship (Form N-600)

If you are already a U.S. citizen, either through circumstances of your birth or action of the law, you may apply for a certificate of citizenship.

Petition for Alien Fiancé (Form I-129F)

A K-1 visa can be issued to the foreign fiancé of a U.S. citizen. After he or she enters the U.S., the couple must be married within 90 days. Application Process Overview
