Arrival/Departure Forms: I-94 and I-94W
With the advent and use of electronic devices to capture and store data, foreigners who arrive in the United States by plane or ship no longer need to complete paper Customs and Border Protection Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record or Form I-94W Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver Arrival/Departure Record.

What Is Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record And Why Is It Important?
This information on this form is used to verify that someone from another country who is visiting the U.S. has been lawfully admitted (or paroled) into the United States of America. As such, it is often requested on applications for various immigration benefits. Travelers, immigrants who need to access this information can easily do so once they get their I-94 Number.
How Do I Get The Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record
Access the electronic version of your Form I-94 Record by visiting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency website. Click on “Get Most Recent I-94” and then provide the relevant information from your passport.

How Can I Find The I-94 Expiration Date?
Your immigration status expires on the date specified in the ‘Admit Until Date’ listed on Form I-94. This is the date that should be used on applications and other forms submitted to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or when applying for benefits provided by other U.S. government agencies.
How Do I Get Permission To Stay Past The Date On My I-94?
To change the expiration date on your electronic Form I-94, you must submit an application before the specified ‘Admit Until’ date. You can file the application for an extension of stay six months to 45 days prior to the expiration date, but USCIS must receive it on or before that date.
Application procedures for an extension of stay depend on your nonimmigrant status using Form I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status
I having difficulty to finding my records, what I can do?
If you are not successful using the passport, try using your visa Form DS-160 (if available) for name variations. Try entering the name as stated on each document. Also try to switch the order of the names, by switch the last and first name when entering the information on the website. If a person has two first names or two last names, try first names without a space between them or the last names without a space between them.
If your passport number on the Form DS-160 is different, try the passport number on which you was admitted. Check for multiple passport numbers.
If none of the above resolve the issue in locating your electronic I-94 record, call or visit a CBP Deferred Inspection Office and explain your problem.
