2018 HHS POVERTY GUIDELINES*
The 2018 poverty guidelines are in effect as of January 13, 2018. Minimum Income Requirements for Use in Completing Form I-864. The separate poverty guidelines for Alaska and Hawaii.
To support an intending immigrant, the sponsor(s) must show that their income level is above 125% of the U.S. poverty line for the family unit. In case the financial sponsors income level is below the guidelines, the intending immigrant may be found to be inadmissible to the United States as a “public charge.”
